The Cocotron is an open source project which aims to implement a cross-platform Objective-C API similar to that described by Apple Inc.'s Cocoa documentation. This includes the AppKit, Foundation, Objective-C runtime and support APIs such as CoreGraphics and CoreFoundation.

Cocotron

The Cocotron is an actively developed project being improved on a regular basis.

The initial release of Cocotron in December of 2006 was the result of many years of work and represented a large amount of usable functionality. The examples showcase some things but do not show everything that is available.

Since the initial release contributors continue to improve and refine the implementation.

Large portions of the API are present and functional.

If you would like to stay current on all the minutia of the project, the developer group mailing list is the most active forum for contributors and developers.

If you would like to be updated on larger events, the blog is the best place.
